Clever Clovers Profile

Fay Sallee
Hi, I am Fay Sallee the Community leader of the Clever Clovers 4-H Leader. For me, 4-H was a way of life as; I grew up in a 4-H family. 4-H has offered opportunities that helped make me become the person that I am today.
I was an IFYE to Nepal in 1965 at a time when people in our county wanted to go back to the good old days. Going to Nepal, I felt I had stepped back in time where there most of the country had no electricity, or indoor plumbing enforcing my appreciation of what our country has to offer even for the poorest people.
I learned other states’ 4-H programs while Sherm and I moved around as we were in the Air Force for 20 years.
Here are a few of my favorite beliefs. 4-H is a Family Affair where the whole family can learn and develop together. That awards and special gifts whether extra produce from a garden or cookies for Sherm, who was known as the cookie monster.
Here are a few of my favorite things to do: jigsaw puzzles on the computer in the morning as I know I will not lose any of the pieces and it only takes 15 to 30 minutes to complete. I like to hike and work outside on our property along the South Santiam River. I enjoy Sunday dinners with my family, daughter Christy and son David and their families. I enjoy working with the 4-H members in my club. It is neat that my grandchildren, Conner and Haley Tye are in my 4-H club. The projects that I lead are entomology and forestry. I also help with the leadership group and keep the community club meetings going. I am probably best known for liking to decorate for the holidays. Creating villages for the seasons is a lot of fun and an excuse to go showing at thrift stores to see what treasure is lurking there waiting for me to find it.
